Pyeloureterography Retrograde

Pyeloureterography is a method used to evaluate the anatomy of the urinary tract and determine the causes of urinary outflow problems. Unlike ureteropyelography, which involves a direct view of the urinary tract on an x-ray, pyelouretharaography is performed through the skin near the renal pelvis. This method of administering a contrast agent allows you to obtain more accurate research results, and does not require intravenous or urethral administration. However, this approach is associated with certain risks, so it should be carried out under the supervision of a specialist.

Normally, the processes of urine formation and urination occur in parallel with each other, and as the bladder fills, fluids are drained into it in the required quantity. But any pathological process in the urinary system can significantly affect this process - slow it down or speed it up. To diagnose and treat diseases and disorders of the kidneys and urinary tract, special procedures are carried out: ultrasound examination, radiography of the kidneys, pyelography and other types (carrying, contact and non-contact) and pyeloureteromrography. When using pyelouretherapy, urine enters the renal pelvis, which allows the anatomy of the kidneys and urinary tract to be assessed.
