Pyoderma is a group of skin diseases caused by infection with streptococci or staphylococci.
Streptoderma (pyoderma of streptococcal etiology) occurs when streptococcus penetrates the skin through microtrauma. These include impetigo, ecthyma, seizures, etc.
Pyoderma of staphylococcal etiology usually occurs against the background of a decrease in the body's resistance (after severe illnesses, with hypovitaminosis, after taking antibiotics, with endocrine disorders).
The disease manifests itself in the form of pustules on the skin, which can be either single or multiple. They are usually localized on the face, arms, legs, and less often in other parts of the body.
With pyoderma of staphylococcal etiology, complications in the form of boils, carbuncles, abscesses, phlegmons, lymphadenitis, etc. are often observed.
