A niche relief is a structure that is formed as a result of the processes of natural development of rocks. It is a depression or indentation on the surface of the earth that is formed due to tectonic movements, soil erosion, weathering and other factors.

A landscape niche is an elementary structure of natural landforms, formed in the process of active and long-term processing. A relief-landscape niche is a set of morphologically homogeneous conditions on local elements of territories, corresponding to the zonal and angoldan conditions of landscape zones and regions. The intra-regional level is a zone of heterogeneous lithogenic substrate, which brings to the root a number of causes of reconstruction. Within its boundaries, surface shapes and labyrinths with dead ends are created
