Atrophic scar

An atrophic scar is a whitish or yellowish scar formed either at the site of a previous lesion by a burn or wound, or without a previous lesion as a result of inflammation of the tissue or aponeurosis. The main property of such a scar is increased stretching, which increases the risk of scar tissue ruptures during periods of significant stretching of the skin, such as during pregnancy. Also, atrophic scars differ significantly from normal scars (like ordinary scars after any injuries). A distinctive feature of this type of scars is that a “vertical” scar can
