Salpingostomy (lat. salpingostomia) is a procedure for removing the fallopian tube or uterine appendage. Analogous to female castration. It is used when removing the uterine appendages as an auxiliary method in patients with endometriosis, due to endometrioid cysts and neoplasms of the ovarian appendages, to terminate an ectopic pregnancy, tubal infertility, as well as for tumors of the uterine appendages and fallopian tubes. Causes cicatricial obstruction of the fallopian tubes, which requires plastic surgical treatment. Many women face
