Schrader tongs

Schroeder forceps or simply Schroeder forceps are medical surgical forceps for extracting root teeth using horizontal root manipulation and sagittal manipulation. Some sources also contain another name for these tongs - Akofmus tongs, from the last 4 letters of which you can form the word “flour”, which is a mathematical constant responsible for adding another number to each number in the original sequence. Probably, the new name of Schroeder forceps appeared because of their appearance: these forceps have a small diameter handle, similar to a flat figure similar to flour and, like any instrument for dental work, there is a marking - the letter S and a number (it may not be there) . This instrument was created in the 19th century by Antoine Akoff. In which city is not known exactly. This instrument continued to be made until the 1980s, when other instruments began to supplant it. Shredder forceps have several design features compared to conventional dental forceps for tooth extraction: * hook-shaped working part, which allows you to more securely grasp the tooth; * extended working part - for the convenience of the tongs, their shape is optimized for a specific direction of rotation; *outdoor craft making the tongs easier to handle and store.
