Sebidin: Antiseptic for oral health

Sebidin is an antiseptic produced in Poland by the pharmaceutical company Glaxo Wellcome Poznan. It belongs to the group of antiseptics containing halogens, in particular chlorhexidine and ascorbic acid. Sebidine is available in the dosage form of lozenges.

One of the main advantages of using Sebidin is its effectiveness in the treatment of various inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity. It can be used for periodontal disease, gum inflammation (redness, swelling, bleeding from the gums), denture-related oral infections, and after surgery. In addition, Sebidin is effective for inflammation of the throat and larynx.

Before using Sebidin, you should familiarize yourself with the contraindications. People with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug should refrain from using it. It is important to note that when using Sebidin, some side effects may occur, such as allergic reactions (feeling of nasal congestion, skin rash), taste disorder, the appearance of tartar, discoloration of teeth, fillings and dentures, inflammation of the parotid gland, as well as soreness of the tongue or oral mucosa.

Sebidine has no known interactions with other medications, however it is always recommended to consult your doctor if you are taking any other medications.

In case of a possible overdose of Sebidine, it is recommended to immediately rinse the stomach and take several tablets of activated carbon, as well as use a laxative.

People prone to caries should take into account the presence of sucrose in Sebidine. It is also recommended to use Sebidin with caution during pregnancy and breastfeeding, after consulting with your doctor.
