Sedum Thickleaf

Weakly poisonous! Crassulaceae - Crassulaceae. Common names: large sedum, healing leaf, hare cabbage. Pharmaceutical name: sedum leaves - Sedi telephii folium (formerly: Foli Sedi telephii).

Botanical description. A perennial plant with a bluish-green stem, 20-60 cm in height. Leaves are opposite, fleshy. Numerous reddish, yellowish or greenish-white flowers are collected in an umbellate inflorescence. Grows on sunny and dry slopes, near walls, in trash areas.

Active ingredients: several alkaloids, tannins, mucus, flavonoids.

Application. In folk medicine it is used as a diuretic and applied to wounds.
