Scheie Syndrome

Despite the fact that Scheie's disease is relatively rare, it plays an important role in medicine because it affects the human nervous system. This syndrome was first described by the German neurologist Rudolf von Scheie in 1916. Nowadays, Sheya is diagnosed when the patient complains of paralysis of the lower part of the face, but the muscles remain toned. There may also be complaints of problems with speech and movement in the lower extremities.

What is the reason? The disease is associated with damage to the posterior column of the pons, which controls the functioning of the muscles of the face and limbs. The condition is also known as bulbar myasthenia gravis syndrome or facial myasthenopathy caused by myoneural destruction.
