Thread Embedding Symptom

Threads and their harmful effects:

When we open a window or door, we usually do it without expecting much resistance. When we talk on the phone, we have to overcome some resistance. The reason for this is the retention mechanism: they hold the mouth open with their fingers so that the threads you use in the mouth to stretch the muscles can be inserted easily. As your mouth opening stretches, the thread moves forward. This is how the muscles stretch and swell more and more under the influence of your biting.

How to use thread correctly to avoid unwanted consequences?

The symptom of thread embedding is a fairly common occurrence. But despite this, not everyone knows the rules for determining and methods of applying this method. Today we will learn how to identify the cut-in symptom using the Melnik test.

The symptom of mortise suture is the intraoperative loss of one or more sutures and subsequent damage to the vascular wall. The condition for identifying this situation is a comparison of the set of threads carried out by the surgeon or operating nurse after the end of the surgical operation.

Regarding the interpretation of the results of comparison of threads performed during surgery, the following should be said. The result of the comparison should look like this:

- both threads are inserted into the vessel to the same length; - thread No. 1 is longer than thread No. 2 by ... mm along the vessel from the outer surface (closer to the surgical instrument).

Thus, the tones of the result are interpreted simply: if the length of the threads is the same, then everything is fine, the thread will not be damaged. If the threads are of different lengths, then there is a mismatch and there is a possibility of damage to blood vessels and the formation of a hematoma. With other options for the results of the interpretation of this symptom, questions arise about the quality of the operation performed and its safety for the patient. The answer to these questions will be provided to us by an expert in one of the following messages.
