Pterygopalatine ganglion syndrome

Pterygopalatine palatine gland syndrome is a pathological condition characterized by a pain syndrome of the “unpleasant pressure” or “internal tension” type that occurs in one or both pterygopalatine glands. The patient's main complaints are unpleasant (paroxysmal) discomfort, a feeling of tightness in breathing, pain on the left or right side of the face, often radiating to the occipital region, paranasal area, especially when looking down.
