Scleral spur (lat. Spur - spur) is a synonym for Schwalbe of the posterior boundary ring, smacking a double-leaf defect of the sclera in the form of a spur towards the equator (from point D to point O). The structure of the Schwalbien bacilli is similar to that of the papilla, but without a papilla. Depending on the width of the base, a distinction is made between superficial S., which appears in the form of a narrow notch with rounded corners, and deep S., which looks like a large incision with the lips drawn inward. Sometimes the throwing plates, according to Boomses, resemble the microscopic figure of a star or crescent. There is no treatment for S.; with ulceration of the mucous membrane of S. there is a danger of scarring.
