Spleen secretion

Lacrimal secretion Lacrimal secretion is the process of releasing tears from the eye socket through the lacrimal ducts. Typically, tearing is associated with emotions or physical conditions. Tear production can occur either as a conditioned reflex (reaction to unpleasant visual, olfactory or tactile stimuli) or unconsciously. Tears remove substances from the surface of the eye shell and cornea that interfere with normal focusing of vision. They also serve as a kind of “antiseptic”, killing germs. In some cases, tearing may occur with the eyes closed. It is most often associated with severe stress or a sudden change in condition, for example, before an exam or an important meeting. Frequent excessive tearing is called lactorrhea.
