Specialized Anti-Epidemic Brigade

The Specialized Anti-Epidemic Brigade (SPEB) is a specialized unit created to combat the spread of infectious diseases and ensure the epidemiological safety of the population. SPEB includes doctors of various specialties, such as infectious disease specialists, epidemiologists, microbiologists, virologists and others.

The main task of SPES is to identify and eliminate sources of infection, as well as carry out preventive measures to prevent the spread of diseases. They work closely with local health authorities and other medical institutions.

The specificity of the work of SPEB is that they are engaged not only in treating patients, but also in analyzing the epidemiological situation in the region. They conduct research to identify new infectious diseases, analyze data on morbidity and mortality, and develop measures to prevent the spread of infections.

In addition, SPEB can carry out vaccination activities for the population, especially in risk groups. They are also training the population in the rules of hygiene and behavior during an epidemic.

Thus, a specialized anti-epidemic team is an important link in the healthcare system, which helps fight infectious diseases and ensure the epidemiological safety of the population.

A specialized anti-epidemic team is created to ensure the implementation of sanitary and epidemiological (preventive) measures, organize and carry out quality control and food safety in order to prevent, limit the spread and eliminate foci of acute intestinal infections, food toxic infections associated with the consumption of food products and food raw materials, infectious and mass non-infectious diseases (poisonings), as well as for carrying out anti-epidemic measures in identifying particularly dangerous infections and infectious diseases of unknown etiology. Structurally, SPEB consists of territorial battalions located throughout the Russian Federation. It is a specialized formation consisting of full-time specialists from state sanitary and epidemiological surveillance bodies. These brigades have autonomous and subordinate territories and are subordinate to regional centers. BPES specialists perform all the work necessary to maintain public health in various areas of the population.

The creation of the BPES was proposed following the introduction of public health measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. At the same time, attention was directed to creating safe living conditions to prevent possible future epidemics. The establishment of SPEB met national health goals

Specialized anti-epidemic team

A specialized anti-epidemic team (SPEB) is a specially trained team of healthcare workers trained to work in difficult epidemic conditions, where the number of infectious cases increases by 3 times the average. These professionals take their place in the infection control system with the goal of protecting the public from infectious diseases and ensuring the responsible dissemination of information. Together with professional epidemiologists and government representatives, SPEB takes all necessary measures to manage morbidity and prevent the spread of diseases. They ensure hospitalization of patients, support medical treatment and carry out sanitation procedures. Overall, these doctors and nurses play an important role in the fight against infectious diseases and are an indispensable part of the medical service.
