Dentistry uses various methods for diagnosing diseases (radiography, laboratory tests, etc.), which, unfortunately, are not always effective. Therefore, the most effective way is surgery.

Hi all! Today I want to tell you about surgical dentistry - an important section of dentistry devoted to the study and diagnosis of diseases of the teeth and oral cavity, as well as the development of surgical methods for treating these diseases.

Surgical dentistry is closely related to general surgery, since many diseases of the teeth and oral cavity are of a surgical nature. For example, cysts, granulomas, abscesses, phlegmons, periodontitis, gingivitis and many others can only be eliminated surgically.

Surgical methods for treating teeth and the oral cavity are used to remove necrotic and infected areas, implantation of artificial structures (crowns, implants, braces and others), as well as excision of tumors. In addition, based on data obtained by surgical methods, pathological and histological examination of tissues is carried out, which can provide the key to understanding the origin of the disease and develop more effective methods for their treatment, diagnosis and prevention.

One of the most important methods of medical laser surgery is laser dentistry. Lasers have found widespread use in tissue surgery. Firstly, due to its strong beam effect, the laser is able to drill into biological tissue without damaging surrounding tissue and thus create ideal hemostasis.
