Streptocide

Streptocide is an antibacterial drug from the sulfonamide group.

Indications for use:

  1. Erysipelas
  2. Angina
  3. Cystitis
  4. Pyelonephritis
  5. Colitis
  6. Wound infection
  7. Infections of the skin and mucous membranes

Directions for use and dosage:

  1. Orally, adults are prescribed 0.5-1 g 5 times a day, a total of 3-6 g per day. The maximum single dose is 2 g, daily dose is 7 g.
  2. Children under 1 year - 0.05-0.1 g per dose, from 2 to 5 years - 0.2-0.3 g, from 6 to 12 years - 0.3-0.5 g.
  3. Locally in the form of 10% ointment and 5% liniment for skin lesions, burns, infections of the ENT organs.

Side effects:

  1. Headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting
  2. Allergic reactions
  3. Tachycardia
  4. Disorders of the hematopoietic system

Contraindications:

  1. Blood diseases
  2. Kidney failure
  3. Graves' disease
  4. Hypersensitivity to sulfonamides
