Subclavian Region

Subclavian region. The subclavian region of the anterior surface of the chest is occupied above by the trapezius muscle, below by the clavicle, and the greater and lesser horns of the hyoid bone. Between them is the shoulder of the subclavian region - the protrusion of the sternum. The mammary glands are located in the armpit (mammary glands in women, their absence or fusion in men). Above the lower branches of the shoulder joint there are two recesses, bounded above by a bone frame and below by the aponeurosis of the latissimus dorsi muscle.

The anterior border of the region passes anteriorly through the edge of the pectoralis major muscle, posteriorly from the ridge separating the first and second ribs. Lower borders: from the sternoclavicular joint
