Pseudotabes Pupillotonica

*Pseudotabes* is a rather rare disease of the muscular corset, often found in elderly patients. The first manifestation of the disease is weakness and drooping of the upper eyelid, which cannot be corrected with special techniques. However, the symptoms may well be combined with other manifestations, for example, loss of sensitivity of bone structures and muscle tissue. The course of the disease is chronic and progresses slowly. Treatment is most often carried out surgically; evisceration is especially effective due to its low morbidity. Despite the fact that the disease sometimes occurs in people at a fairly young age, therapy is often associated with certain difficulties and causes complications, since all the muscles are attached to the spine and intracranial space.
