Surdotherapeutic Equipment

Surdotherapy equipment is special equipment used to carry out sign language therapy.

Sign language therapy is a method of treatment and rehabilitation of people with hearing impairments using special technical means. The goal of sign language therapy is to improve auditory perception, develop verbal communication skills, and social adaptation of people with hearing impairment.

The main types of hearing aids are:

  1. Hearing aids - amplify sound and send it directly to the user's ear. There are in-ear, behind-the-ear and pocket-sized ones.

  2. Cochlear implants are a surgically implanted device that stimulates the auditory nerve and allows people with severe hearing loss to distinguish sounds.

  3. Sound amplification equipment for collective use is a device that improves speech perception in groups of people. These include FM systems, induction loops and infrared systems.

  4. Vibrotactile devices - convert sounds into vibration signals perceived through tactile sensations.

  5. Special computer programs for the development of auditory-speech skills.

Thus, audiotherapy equipment includes a wide range of technical means that help people with impaired hearing to hear, understand speech and communicate better. Properly selected and used equipment significantly increases the effectiveness of hearing impairment rehabilitation.

Sound therapy is a method aimed at restoring impaired hearing function in a patient after various diseases and injuries that have led to hearing loss. Significant therapy includes the use of special audio- and video-assisted technologies, physiotherapy, pharmacology and psychotherapy.

Sound therapy devices are intended for use in patients with hearing impairment of varying severity. They are used both at home and in clinics, specialized hospitals and rehabilitation centers.

All known types of hearing aids used by professional hearing rehabilitation are presented. The review contains an overview of their design, functions, therapy systems, and operating principles. The main diseases for which one or another model of the device is recommended, the features and capabilities of the technologies used and their application are described. The most effective combinations of equipment and treatment programs for various parts of the ear have been collected. In the corresponding chapters of the models under consideration, sign language audio devices and their techniques are described by priority in application. A detailed diagram of the operation of each model is provided: diagnosis, treatment, indications and contraindications, setup, further use, cleaning. Particular attention is paid to concomitant therapeutic techniques. For convenience and clarity, illustrations are provided - disassembly/assembly diagrams, instructions for use, photographs. Here we describe our own methodology for selecting audiotherapy equipment for the patient’s individual situation, which is often a problem due to the desire to obtain the ideal instrument and implement the fastest and most effective treatment path. The rules for using surdo are considered
