Fistula Acquired

An acquired fistula is a chronic inflammation of the scar. Occurs when a purulent wound closes with the subsequent addition of a secondary infection.

Predisposing factors are previous diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, reproductive system, as well as gastrointestinal disorders and hemorrhoids, which reduce immunity. Less commonly, a fistula in the rectal area develops against the background of a fibrotic process after injuries, operations, or malignant neoplasms.
