This rare infectious disease can destroy the muscles used for speech, walking and swallowing in a matter of days. Anyone can get this disease. Symptoms begin with headache, fever and nausea, but after 48-72 hours the symptoms worsen and the person is no longer able to chew or speak. The disease usually begins with facial pain followed by numbness of the lips, facial muscles, mouth, eyes and tongue. Within a few hours, the affected area of ​​the face swells, the lips and mouth become covered with a white substance, which gradually peels off and peels off. The person has difficulty holding food or drinking because the mouth muscles are weakened. Most often, affected people stop breathing completely for several hours, after which it resumes.
