Botanical description. The fruiting body of the fungus develops on the surface of tree trunks. It is semicircular or hoof-shaped, up to 50 cm in height, 30 cm in width and 25 cm in thickness, brownish-gray in color.
Most often, this parasitic fungus is found on deciduous trees, especially beech.
Active ingredients. The chemical composition of the fungus has been poorly studied; Apparently, it contains substances that cause a hemostatic effect.
