Thyroid aplasia

Thyroid aplasia - (thyreo- from thyr (thyroid) and apylaxia (aplaxy)) or thyroid aplasia is a rare congenital disease in which the thyroid gland does not develop correctly. This term appeared as a result of combining two words - thyroiditis and aplasia. It is important to note that thyroid atireoaplasitis, thyroid edematitis are symptoms associated with inflammatory diseases of the thyroid gland. The term thyroid inflammation also combines several diseases of the thyroid gland that have the same etiopathogenesis.
