Trichology

Trichology is a branch of dermatology that studies the structure, physiology and pathology of hair.

Trichology deals with the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases and hair growth disorders. The main areas of trichology include:

  1. Study of the normal hair growth cycle and the factors influencing this process.

  2. Diagnosis and treatment of baldness (alopecia) of various types - androgenetic, diffuse, focal, etc.

  3. Diagnosis and treatment of hair color disorders (gray hair, early greying).

  4. Treatment of infectious diseases of the hair and scalp (fungal infections, pediculosis).

  5. Therapy for hair damage and trauma (trichotillomania, chemical and physical damage).

  6. Surgical methods for the treatment of baldness (hair transplantation, microtransplantation).

  7. Cosmetological procedures for hair care and restoration.

Trichology is closely related to dermatology, endocrinology, immunology and other medical disciplines. Modern trichology relies on advances in genetics, biochemistry and molecular biology to study the causes and mechanisms of development of hair diseases. The goal of trichology is to develop effective methods for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of hair pathologies.

Trichology is a branch of dermatology that studies hair and its diseases.

Trichology covers all aspects related to hair health, including hair growth, structure, function and disease. The main goal of trichology is to understand the physiology and pathophysiology of hair in order to diagnose and treat various hair problems such as baldness, hair loss, dandruff and others.

Trichologists study the structure and growth cycles of hair, the factors influencing its health, and also research and develop treatments for common hair and scalp diseases. They use various methods such as trichoscopy (microscopic examination of the hair and scalp), tests and hair biopsies.

The main areas studied within trichology:

  1. Normal physiology and hair growth cycles
  2. Diseases that cause hair loss (baldness)
  3. Inflammatory diseases of the scalp and hair (seborrhea, psoriasis)
  4. Structural hair abnormalities (frizziness, fragility)
  5. Cosmetic hair problems (damage from perm and coloring)
  6. Development of products and methods for treating hair problems

Trichology is closely related to dermatology, endocrinology and other medical specialties. It plays an important role in understanding and treating common hair problems.

Trichology is a branch of dermatocosmetology that studies the health of hair and scalp, and also provides practical experience in identifying, correcting and preventing hair diseases in various age groups based on modern methods of diagnosis, hair preservation and restoration. This new direction for Russia arose in the nineties of the last century from the international cooperation of leading medical institutions in the field of trichology in France, Germany, the USA and Russia, dealing with the treatment of hair loss and other scalp diseases.

Trichology includes the diagnosis and treatment of alopecia (baldness), seborrhea (seborrheic dermatitis), dandruff; restorative and therapeutic hair therapy for seborrheic hair loss, androgenic alopecia, total diffuse alopecia.

The scope of application includes salon care and therapy for unruly hair, care for sensitive scalp in children and adolescents, cosmetological correction of hair growth deficiencies, prevention of hair loss in men and women, stimulation of hair growth in women and men. The main types of therapy using medicinal cosmetics are mesotherapy of the scalp; hair encapsulation; manual massage of the scalp when performing various
