Trichophytosis Deep

**Trichophytosis** is a fungal skin disease that is caused by the fungus Trichophyton mentagrophytes or other related species. This disease manifests itself primarily as red patches on the skin with white scales that appear around the hair follicles. Trichophytosis is often confused with psoriasis, eczema and other skin diseases, since they have a similar clinical picture.

Trichophytosis is a relatively rare diagnosis, but it can lead to serious skin infections and cause secondary infections. Therefore, timely diagnosis, treatment and prevention of this disease are extremely important for the health of the skin and the overall well-being of the patient.

In this article we will look at deep trichophytosis (t.profunda). This is a rare type of trichophytosis, which is characterized by deep skin lesions affecting the hair follicles and subcutaneous layers of the skin.

**Causes of the disease**

The microscopic fungus that causes trichophytosis lesions on the skin is called Trichophyton schoenleinii. The source of the disease is an ill person who spreads the fungus to surrounding surfaces through direct contact with infected objects or through close contact with another infected person. Surfaces at risk of infection include carpets, clothing, shoes, furniture, and bathroom and shower stall surfaces.

Risk factors that increase the likelihood of contracting deep trichophytosis include poor hygiene, common cleaning products, and frequent changes of bedding without sufficient cleaning. Due to the complexity of treatment and the high rate of complications, trichophytosis is a potentially serious and life-threatening disease. However, recent studies have shown that modern topical shampoos and ointments can be used effectively to control trichophytosis, reduce the frequency of recurrences and reduce the severe consequences of the infection.

Characteristic clinical symptoms

When infected with trichophytid fungi, the following may develop:
