Thrombophlebitis

Thrombophlebitis is an inflammation of the venous wall that occurs as a result of its hypercoagulation with adhesion of the walls of the venous lumen and the formation of a blood clot. Symptoms include painful sensations, a feeling of heaviness in the limbs and swelling of the affected area. The danger of thrombophlebitis lies in the possible risks of re-formation of blood clots in the future, the development of complications and even death. Therefore, treatment of thrombophlebitis should be carried out strictly under the supervision of the attending physician.
