Thromboplastins (thromboplastic factors) are proteins - substances found in the blood plasma that trigger the formation of blood clots. A particularly important one is the FVIII antigen (coaguloglobulin), which is found in the plasma of all types of blood. Being an anticoagulating factor, it actually has the opposite effect.
The FVIII protein cannot bind to liver proteins. It binds only to the protein produced by platelets, transforms the enzyme thromboplastin and maintains blood clotting and circulation, regulating the hemostatic system.
