Tropism

Tropism is the tendency of biological organisms to move “purposefully” towards a stimulus that attracts or repels them. In living nature, tropism plays the role of one of the mechanisms for regulating physiological and behavioral processes in animals. It is used, for example, in the process of leaf growth, seed dispersal and other activities.

All living things are subject to natural external forces that shape their behavior. Plants, many simple organisms and invertebrates can move in the direction of light - phototropism.
