Urticaria Solar

Solar urticaria is a disease that appears as skin rashes caused by exposure to sunlight. This form of hives is known as U. solis and is characterized by small red and itchy patches on exposed skin that can be detected within minutes of sun exposure.

Solar urticaria can occur in people of any age, but is especially common in young children and teenagers. Factors contributing to the development of the disease are increased skin sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation, genetic predisposition and the presence of other allergic diseases
