Mud baths

Mud baths are baths in which the acting medium is a mixture of therapeutic mud and brine.

Mud baths are used for medicinal purposes for various diseases. Their main action is based on the thermal and chemical effects of mud components on the body.

Mud for such procedures is obtained in specially designated areas of the respective resorts. It has a complex chemical composition, including organic substances, trace elements, hormones, vitamins and other biologically active components.

Before the procedure, the mud is heated and diluted with water from mineral springs (brine) to the desired consistency. The temperature of such a bath is usually 37-39 degrees.

Mud baths have anti-inflammatory, analgesic, trophic and other beneficial effects. They are indicated for diseases of the musculoskeletal system, nervous system, digestive organs, gynecological problems and many other ailments.

The procedures are carried out under the supervision of a spa doctor, who selects the appropriate composition and temperature of mud baths, taking into account indications and contraindications for a particular patient. The course of treatment usually includes 8-12 procedures.

Mud therapy is rightfully considered one of the effective and promising methods of sanatorium-resort therapy.

Mud baths (mud therapy) are one of the methods of active mud treatment, which consists of a person taking medicinal sulfide mud and aqueous solutions (brine), which have a bitter taste, dark brown color and high heat capacity. The main therapeutic effect of such baths is their thermal effect on the human body due to the high temperature of the mud, as well as the chemical effect due to the properties of sulfide mud. Mud contains many biologically active substances that irritate skin receptors, providing antispasmodic, bactericidal, anti-inflammatory effects. Rapa enhances the thermal effect of mud, increases heat transfer and promotes deeper penetration of mud into the skin. In addition, hydrogen sulfide helps relax the smooth muscles of internal organs and blood vessels. As a result of the breakdown of organic matter in the dirt, methane gas is formed, which irritates the nasal mucosa, improving breathing through the nose and upper respiratory tract, affecting the olfactory nerves, enhancing the sense of smell. This enhances the overall healing effect of mud baths. Mud baths are an important means of eliminating inflammation, improving blood supply and metabolism. However, the main principle of mud therapy is the rational dosing of the temperature regime of the procedures, since the concentration and temperature of the mud must be
