Cotton wool Sterile

Sterile cotton wool is cotton wool that has undergone special treatment to remove microorganisms. It is used for medical purposes for dressings, tamponade of wounds, absorption of secretions and other things.

Sterile cotton wool is produced in Russia at such enterprises as the Nizhny Novgorod plant "October", Evers-Farm, Gigrovata-St. Petersburg.

To make the cotton sterile, it is subjected to special treatment:

  1. Washing and bleaching with hydrogen peroxide to remove impurities
  2. Drying and fluffing cotton wool in special drums
  3. Sterilization in autoclaves or gamma units

Sterile cotton wool is produced in the form of cotton balls, swabs, napkins, bandages of various sizes, individually packaged.

This type of cotton wool is widely used in medical institutions for dressings, absorbing secretions, and tamponade of wounds. It prevents infection of the wound surface.
