Vena Ugla Rta

**Vein of the corner of the mouth**

It is located in a depression anterior to the corner of the mouth on the lateral surface of the facial muscle, which limits this depression in front and on the side. According to its position relative to the corner of the mouth, it can be upper, middle or lower. Most often the vein is bilateral. In some cases, on one side it is completely absent, has a short course and does not reach the midline.

In the area of the corner of the mouth there are also the parotid salivary gland, the facial muscle, the buccal part of the masticatory muscle and the muscle of the corner of the mouth itself (m. corrugator supercilii). The parotid gland and facial muscles are involved in facial movements.

Features depending on location

There are three types of veins:

1. superolateral; 2. dorsal; 3. lateral; 4. medial. The first type of veins is the most common. They are directed from the medial and lateral sides of the corner of the mouth in the transverse direction under the facial muscles. The dorsal veins are located on the posterior inferior part of the head
