Localized ventilation
Localizing ventilation is mechanical ventilation whose task is to prevent the spread of harmful substances throughout the room from the place of their origin.
The main purpose of localized ventilation is to remove harmful emissions directly from the area of their formation, preventing them from spreading throughout the room. This allows you to significantly reduce the volume of air removed compared to general ventilation.
Localized ventilation is used in production workshops with sources of local emissions of harmful substances, in laboratories, catering establishments and in other premises with significant local heat or gas emissions.
To organize localized ventilation, exhaust hoods, side suction, local suction and other devices located directly above the sources of harmful emissions are used. The effectiveness of localized ventilation largely depends on the correct placement and configuration of such devices.
Localized ventilation is engineering equipment used to limit the spread of harmful substances throughout the premises when they occur. Localization of harmful substances prevents them from entering the air of the working area, which helps create comfortable conditions for workers. The purpose of localizing ventilation is to reduce the possibility of contaminants spreading throughout the room, or converting them into an inactive or low-active form. The measures taken contribute to the creation of safe working conditions.
The use of ventilation may be useful in the following situations:
- when concentration of people in one place is required in order to perform a common task (conference rooms, industrial workshops);
- in case of constant use of premises (warehouses, workshops);
When establishing the problem and the method for solving it, local ventilation is concentrated directly at the site of pollution occurrence (work areas). In this case, no additional energy is required for its operation. This has a positive effect on the work process and the organization’s budget. It is important to develop the correct system of localized ventilation systems, providing for the most comfortable use of the equipment when using it.
