Verbov's theory is a concept developed by the Soviet obstetrician and gynecologist Yakov Fedorovich Verbov (1871–1930) at the beginning of the 20th century. Verbov believed that pregnancy and childbirth are natural processes that occur in a woman's body, and that interfering with these processes can lead to serious consequences for the health of the mother and child.
According to Verbovaya's theory, pregnancy begins with the fertilization of an egg by a sperm. After this, the fertilized egg begins to develop in the uterus and goes through several stages before becoming a fetus. Childbirth is a natural process that occurs due to contraction of the uterus and abdominal wall muscles.
Werbow argued that interfering with the birth process could lead to various complications such as premature birth, injury to the mother or baby, and the development of various diseases such as infections. He also believed that caesarean section was an unnecessary and dangerous intervention that could lead to complications and even death of mother and child.
However, although Werbow's theory was popular in its time, it was not widely accepted in obstetrics and gynecology. Many doctors and scientists believed that his views were too radical and did not correspond to modern scientific knowledge and practice.
Currently, most obstetricians and gynecologists adhere to more conservative views on pregnancy and childbirth. They believe that for a successful outcome of pregnancy and childbirth, it is necessary to follow certain rules and recommendations that help avoid complications and improve the health of mother and child.
Verbova Theory
The development and implementation of Verbov’s theory dates back to 2018. The author of the theory is Yakov Fomich Verbov, a talented doctor, obstetrician-gynecologist and founder of the school of post-Soviet obstetrics from the CIS.
Yakov Fomich received a medical education at Moscow University and began working as a gynecologist, heading the maternity ward since 1929. until 1941, then for 25 years he worked as the chief obstetrician of the Moscow region. He worked his way up from an ordinary doctor to the head of the department of obstetrics and gynecology. He was a co-founder and one of the compilers of the book "Obstetrics and Gynecology" - Moscow "Medicine".
The essence of Verbov's theory
The essence of the theory is that the woman and the fetus are protected from harmful influences, harmful factors by the “pain” sensitivity of the woman’s body. Therefore Ya.F. Verbov recommended not to induce labor pain: - preventive analgesia promotes dilatation of the cervix; - correctly administered epidural anesthesia during childbirth also favors the development and timely completion of the birth process.
