Vero-Fludarabine

Vero-Fludarabine: an antitumor drug for the treatment of lymphoma

Vero-Fludarabine is a synthetic antitumor drug produced by the Russian pharmaceutical company Lance-Pharm. It is a lyophilisate for the preparation of a solution for intravenous administration with the active substance fludarabine. The international name of the drug is Fludarabine, and is also known under the synonym Fludara.

Vero-Fludarabine is used to treat chronic B-cell lymphocytic leukemia and low-grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. This medication is indicated for use in adults and its safety and effectiveness have not been established in children.

However, various side effects may occur with Vero-Fludarabine, including myelosuppression (decreased blood cell count), decreased tolerance to infections, anorexia, nausea, vomiting, and tumor lysis syndrome (which can cause flank pain, hematuria, urinary frequency, hyperphosphatemia , hypercalcemia, metabolic acidosis, hyperkalemia, crystalluria and renal failure).

Contraindications to the use of Vero-Fludarabine include hypersensitivity to the active substance, impaired renal function (creatinine Cl less than 30 ml/min), decompensated hemolytic anemia, pregnancy and breastfeeding (during treatment).

When using Vero-Fludarabine, caution should be exercised in patients with suspected renal failure and in old age (over 70 years). The use of live vaccines should also be avoided during and after treatment, and patients of reproductive age should use contraception during treatment.

Interactions with other medications may also affect the effectiveness of Vero-Fludarabine. For example, pentostatin may increase the likelihood of lung damage, and adenosine reuptake inhibitors (eg, dipyridamole) may reduce the effectiveness of Vero-Fludarabine.

Overdose of Vero-Fludarabine may cause a variety of symptoms, including irreversible changes in the central nervous system (eg, loss of vision), coma, and myelosuppression (thrombocytopenia and neutropenia). Treatment of overdose requires stimulation of bone marrow excretion and transfusion of platelets and red blood cells.

Overall, Vero-Fludarabine is an effective antineoplastic agent for the treatment of chronic B-cell lymphocytic leukemia and low-grade non-Hodgkin's lymphoma in adults. However, when using it, you must be careful and follow your doctor's recommendations to avoid possible side effects and interactions with other medications.
