Vesiculitis

Vesiculitis is an inflammation of the seminal vesicles (vesicles). This is a common disease that affects men aged 30-50 years.

Causes

The main causes of vesiculitis are sexually transmitted infections, such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, and ureaplasmosis. Other causes may also be other infections of the genitourinary system, trauma, or stagnation of secretions.

Symptoms

  1. Pain and discomfort in the groin area, which intensifies during ejaculation.

  2. Pain on palpation of the seminal vesicles.

  3. Dysuria (painful and difficult urination).

  4. Increased body temperature.

  5. Ejaculation disorders.

Diagnostics

The diagnosis is established on the basis of complaints, medical history, physical examination and laboratory tests (urinalysis, smears for flora). An ultrasound, CT or MRI of the pelvic organs may also be performed.

Treatment

Treatment of vesiculitis includes antibacterial therapy, anti-inflammatory drugs, and physical therapy. If chronic, surgical intervention may be required. It is important to treat sexually transmitted infections in partners. The prognosis with timely treatment is favorable.
