Etymology

The name "cholera" comes from the Greek. χολή - “bile” and λεός - “dew” - this description of the disease was given by the Italian traveler Andrea Antonelli in 1546. This disease mainly affects children or young people. It is accompanied by disturbances in water-electrolyte metabolism, intoxication and dehydration of the body, and without treatment can lead to death.
