VitA-POS is an eye ointment with lubricating and keratoprotective properties. It is used in ophthalmology to improve the condition of the tear film, which protects the cornea from drying out. Quickly relieves symptoms of discomfort and irritation of the eyes: dryness, burning, sensation of the presence of a foreign body.

Composition and release form

VitA-POS – sterile oily eye ointment, contains:

1. Main substance: vitamin A palmitate – 250IU;
2. Additional substances: white petrolatum, lanolin, liquid paraffin, light liquid paraffin.

Package. Aluminum tubes of 5g in a cardboard pack.

Pharmacological properties

Vitamin A, contained in VitA-POS, is a natural element of the tear film. It gives the product an oily, delicate consistency, which ensures good mixing with natural tear fluid and excellent tolerability of the drug.

The VitA-POS product is gently and evenly distributed over the surface of the eyeball and, staying there for a long time, helps improve the components of the tear film, thereby reliably protecting the cornea from drying out.

The use of VitA-POS ointment promotes the rapid disappearance of symptoms of discomfort in the eye: burning, “dryness,” foreign body sensation.

Indications for use

Improving the condition of the tear film, protecting the surface of the eye, eliminating discomfort due to “dryness”, foreign body sensation, burning, including those arising under the influence of: external factors (conditioned air, wind, cold, cigarette smoke, intense solar radiation, urban smog), intense visual stress (long-term work at a computer and other monitors, excessive time spent in front of the TV, the need to drive a vehicle in the dark), prolonged wearing of contact lenses.

Directions for use and doses

It is recommended to apply a column of ointment approximately 1 cm conjunctivally 1-3 times daily, focusing on your own sensations, according to the recommendations of an ophthalmologist. The duration of use is not limited. The effectiveness of the drug is especially high when applying the ointment before bedtime.

To apply the drug, you need to tilt your head back, pull back the lower eyelid and squeeze a column of ointment into the conjunctival sac, gently pressing on the tube. After this, slowly close your eyelids.

1. Temporary blurred vision immediately after using the product.
2. The occurrence of allergic reactions in persons with individual intolerance to the components of the drug.

VitA-POS is not recommended to be combined with other local ophthalmic agents. But if the combination cannot be avoided, it is necessary to make an interval between their applications of at least 30 minutes.

Special instructions

VitA-POS ointment cannot be used while wearing contact lenses. It is better for lens wearers to use the drug at night after removing correction products.

Do not touch the tube spout to the surface of the conjunctiva or eyeball, do not break or roll the tube. After applying the product, carefully seal the cap.

After applying VitA-POS ointment, temporary blurred vision occurs. During this time, you should not drive or operate moving machinery.

Store VitA-POS at room temperature. Protected from children.

Shelf life is 3 years from the date of release of the product. After opening the tube, the drug is good for no more than 12 weeks.

Interaction

VitA-POS ® should not be used simultaneously with other ophthalmic agents. In cases where joint use cannot be avoided, it is recommended to use VitA-POS ® 30 minutes after using another product.

Directions for use and doses

Conjunctivally. It is recommended to apply a 1 cm long strip of product 1-3 times a day.

The frequency of use is set individually depending on the patient’s feelings, his lifestyle and according to the recommendations of the ophthalmologist.

The duration of treatment is not limited.

Impact on working with machinery and driving vehicles.
