Artemisia citvarens
Wormwood (Artemisia cina) is a plant of the Asteraceae family.
Description:
Subshrub up to 50 cm high, branched from the middle of the stem. The leaves are doubly pinnately dissected, the flowers are small, the baskets are collected in paniculate inflorescences. Grows in the steppes of Kazakhstan.
Compound:
Contains santonin, artemisin (provides bitterness), essential oil, tannins, resins and other compounds.
Application:
Previously considered the best anthelmintic for children, it is currently used to obtain the anthelmintic substance santonin from unopened inflorescences (flowers) - Cinae flos.
