Popper clamp

A Popper clamp is a special tool that is used in dental practice to fix the patient's mouth and facilitate dental procedures. In this text we will look at its design and application.

This clamp was named after Dr. Milton Popper, who introduced this tool in 1940. The clamp allows you to firmly fix the patient's lips, tongue and jaw so that they remain motionless during treatment.

The Popper clamp design consists of two parts - upper and lower. The bottom is a rigid steel block with ridges on the front and back. The upper part is made of soft elastic rubber, which provides comfort for the patient and allows the lip to be fixed easily and safely.

The process of using a Popper clamp is as follows: in the first stage, the doctor inserts the lower part of the clamp between the patient's lips. Then the patient bites the upper elastic band and fixes it with his teeth and lips. The upper elastic band provides fixation of the patient's jaw and tongue, and the lower one provides fixation and support for the lower jaw.
