Paraurethral glands

Paraurethral glands are found mainly in women. They are located in the lateral wall of the vagina on the border between its anterior and posterior surfaces, most often on the left; in some women they are absent. They originate from the prostatic urethra and large excretory ducts of the paraurinal and vaginal glands. The glandular tissue is well developed. Through the ducts of these glands, a secret is released, rich in mucous and mucus-forming proteins and other substances, which moisturizes the genital slit and provides a certain degree of mobility of the penis during intimacy.
