Pregnancy itch
Pruritus gravidarum, also called dermatosis gravidarum, is a very common condition during pregnancy. It is caused by changes in a woman’s hormonal background, which leads to changes in pH levels.
Usually the symptoms are a constant itching or stinging discomfort in certain parts of the body, which, however, does not occur during a certain period of the menstrual cycle. It most often spreads to the back, armpits and armpits, arms or fingers, and legs. The itching can be unbearable at times, and its duration can vary from a few days to several weeks or months, depending on each case differently.
The most common risk factors for this disease are age, heredity and stress during pregnancy, but it is also considered a serious disease only in predisposed individuals.
