Gepon is an immunomodulatory drug used in the treatment of diseases caused by bacteria, viruses and fungi. It is a fairly highly effective remedy for epidermal tumors caused by human papillomavirus. It is more often used not as a single drug, but as a complex therapy, usually after the use of destructive methods of treating papillomas.

Description and composition of the drug

Gepon is a drug belonging to the group of immunostimulants. The official instructions for use of the drug do not directly indicate that it is used to treat human papillomavirus infection and its skin manifestations - warts and papillomas. It is noted that the drug is used for weakened immunity, immunodeficiency conditions, lesions of the skin and mucous membranes, as well as infections caused by various pathogens, including viral ones. This explains the use of Gepon in the treatment of benign tumors caused by HPV.

The drug Gepon helps get rid of the following types of papillomas:

  1. vulgar warts;
  2. spines;
  3. filamentous papillomas;
  4. genital warts;
  5. flat warts.

The drug Gepon contains a substance of the same name. It is represented by a synthetic peptide of 14 amino acid residues.

Gepon is produced in the form of a lyophilized white powder, from which a solution is prepared, used both internally and externally. It is colorless and odorless.

Gepon is packaged in bottles, which are then placed in cardboard boxes with instructions. In some configurations it comes with an ampoule of liquid, with which the product is diluted, as well as a medical syringe for one-time use. There are several packaging options for this drug - 1, 3 and 30 bottles. However, in the open market you can buy Gepon one bottle at a time; it is very rare to find 3 bottles in a pack. Packages with 30 bottles are supplied by specialized medical representatives to medical institutions, and most often in such doses the product is used only in the treatment of acute immunodeficiency conditions.

The price of Gepon is from 710 rubles in Russia per bottle with an active substance concentration of 2 mg (from 860 hryvnia per bottle in Ukraine).

Gepon has no direct analogues; in terms of their effect on the body and papillomavirus, drugs such as Isoprinosine, Immunomax, Allokin-Alpha, Interferon are similar to it.

Gepon requires specific storage conditions. It must be protected from light, not only direct sunlight, but also artificial sources. Storage temperature - from 2 to 8°C. As a rule, this temperature regime can be achieved by placing the drug on the refrigerator door. Shelf life: 2 years from the date of production.

Note! Under no circumstances should Gepon be used after the expiration date, or if the seal of the package has been broken, the drug has changed color (completely or even partially), become liquid, viscous, or acquired any consistency other than powder.

The benefits of Gepon in the treatment of papillomas and warts

Warts as an indication for the use of Gepon

The action of the drug Gepon is based on the influence on the process of production of natural interferons, as well as the mobilization of macrophages - specific cells that absorb viruses, bacteria, fungi, leading to infectious infection of the body.

Useful properties of the drug Gepon:

  1. Immunomodulatory. Substances are produced that contribute to the formation of more reliable protection of the body from the entry and spread of viruses, bacteria, and fungi.
  2. Antiviral. Activation of the activity of macrophages allows not only to protect the body from infection coming from outside, but also to target those viruses that are already in the body, destroying their cellular structures and causing death.
  3. General strengthening. Since the action of Gepon is detrimental to many pathogens, there is a general improvement in health, which contributes to a speedy cure for HPV.
  4. Preventive. The use of Gepon helps to avoid recurrence of tumors.
  5. Antitumor. The destruction of papillomavirus and its destructive effect on virus-infected cells prevents their degeneration from benign to malignant, which is an effective prevention of cancer.

Instructions for use of lyophilisate

Gepon from HPV

Before starting treatment with Gepon for tumors caused by the human papillomavirus, you should seek advice from medical specialists. Only they can check your warts and papillomas for benignity, and if this formation does not require oncological intervention and has a low degree of oncogenicity, give permission for treatment.

Gepon is used in two ways - internal and external. However, in the treatment of papillomas and warts, the external method is most often used, which consists of treating the virus-affected areas of the skin with a lyophilisate solution.

Instructions for use of Gepon:

  1. Remove the bottle of lyophilized powder from the packaging.
  2. Make sure that the integrity of the bottle is not damaged, and that the color of the powder is uniform and has not acquired a non-specific consistency - liquid, viscous.
  3. If you use this drug to treat papillomas and warts that have not undergone preliminary destructive treatment (laser therapy, cryofreezing, etc.), it is recommended to steam the tumor in warm water, remove dead parts of the skin, and only then begin the application procedure. It is recommended to clean soft papillomas (filamentous and genital warts) with a mild detergent and blot with a terry towel or gauze.
  4. Open the bottle of powder and carefully inject 5 ml of liquid into it using a syringe. For dilution, you must use the liquid that comes with the lyophilisate. If there is none, use water for injection.
  5. Stir until a homogeneous solution is obtained.
  6. Apply the product to the treated area using a cotton swab.

The duration of such procedures, as well as the number of treatments per day, is determined individually, depending on the type of neoplasm, its location and the patient’s immune system.

The use of Gepon orally is permitted only in a medical hospital; the treatment regimen must be prescribed by the attending physician, and the administration of the drug must be ensured by a qualified medical professional.

Contraindications for use

Pregnancy as a contraindication to the use of Gepon

Before starting treatment with any immunomodulatory drug, doctors strongly recommend conducting a study such as an immunogram. It will help assess the state of a person’s immunity and determine whether treatment with this drug can be carried out and in what doses.

There are several categories of people who are prohibited from using Gepon, regardless of the immunogram results.

Gepon is contraindicated:

  1. children under 12 years old;
  2. pregnant women;
  3. women during lactation;
  4. people who are allergic to the components of the medicine.

However, it is noted that if the benefits of using Gepon outweigh the risks, recommendations for a ban can be neglected. Such a decision can only be made by the attending physician, and if we are talking about a pregnant woman, a nursing mother, or the need to use the product in children, additional consultation with an obstetrician-gynecologist or pediatrician is needed. When treating allergy sufferers, you should also seek the opinion of an allergist.

Side effects from the use of Gepon were not observed; therapy with this immunomodulator does not affect the ability to drive vehicles, dangerous and precise mechanisms.

Results of using the product

Results of using Gepon for papillomas and warts

Manufacturers in Gepon's instructions do not provide information about the results of using the drug as monotherapy. How effective a drug is can be judged only from patient reviews. They note that the first changes in the appearance of neoplasms are visible within 2 weeks after the end of use of the drug. The skin becomes clear after approximately 4 weeks.

Scientific works contain data on the use of Gepon as a means of complex therapy. To conduct clinical studies, a group of patients aged from 12 to 50 years was selected. In this group of patients, various types of epidermal neoplasms were observed: on the face, body, upper and lower extremities, and in the anogenital area.

During this study, the lyophilisate solution was used as part of complex therapy, as an immunostimulating agent to increase local immunity after treating tumors with Solcoderm. As a result of the study, it was noted that re-formation of papillomas was not observed in any of the patients. Researchers attribute such results specifically to the use of Gepon.

Real reviews about Gepon

Reviews of Gepon for papillomas and warts

Gepon has mostly positive reviews, as it enjoys credibility among patients. However, most mentions of the drug concern the treatment not of the human papilloma virus and the epidermal neoplasms caused by it, but of other diseases, and as a side effect, a cure for benign growths caused by HPV is mentioned. In addition, the use of this remedy as a complex therapy after radical methods of treating warts - cryodestruction, laser therapy, burning with chemical acids - is positively characterized. Also, as an additional effect of using the product, patients cite strengthening the immune system and the body’s ability to more actively resist seasonal viral colds.

Kristina, 39 years old, Saratov

I was quite seriously ill with pharyngitis several times. After that, my immunity decreased. Not only did any draft or slight hypothermia lead to a cold, but also against the background of this, papillomas appeared throughout the body. I once had them in my youth, but after I started playing sports and strengthening my immune system, they gradually went away on their own. But just as the body malfunctioned again, they appeared again. Externally administered medications did not help me. As soon as education left, time passed and two new ones could appear in its place. I was desperate to do something about the papillomas and tried not to pay attention to them. When I fell ill with pharyngitis again, the therapist sent me to an immunologist, and she suggested radical treatment - immunomodulators. I noticed that other Gepon doctors have mostly positive reviews. I decided to try it. The course of treatment took place a year ago. During this time, I never got sick with colds. And, importantly, almost all papillomas and warts disappeared from my body. I saw the first changes within a few weeks after the course. After a few more weeks, the growths on the neck and under the breasts shrunk and detached. More time passed and the wart disappeared from my index finger. In Saratov, the price of Gepon is about 700 rubles. Not the cheapest product, but given its effectiveness, I recommend it.

Marina, 43 years old, St. Petersburg

After suffering from hypothermia, I had a whole bunch of women's problems. Unfortunately, it was not possible to cope with them quickly, and as a result of long-term treatment, taking antibiotics and other aggressive drugs, I also developed candidiasis. Then doctors advised using an immunomodulating drug as treatment. I started exploring the forums, looking for reviews, but there weren’t that many of them. But those I met praised this product, so I decided to try it. It turned out to be not difficult to buy Gepon in St. Petersburg. This is not a drug that is sold in every pharmacy, but if ordered, it will be delivered within a day, maximum the next day, so I had no problems purchasing the product. I completed a full and fairly long course of treatment, followed all the doctor’s recommendations and strictly followed the instructions. But, unfortunately, there was no complete cure for candidiasis. But my skin was completely cleared of the hated papillomas and warts that appeared on the body after pregnancy, childbirth and breastfeeding. Many women suffer from this problem when, after lactation, thread-like papillomas form under the breasts. It is a very unpleasant and quite problematic sore, as it is very difficult to get rid of it. I used external remedies and cut them off with a laser, but time passed and they appeared again. And after Gepon they disappeared and have not appeared for quite a long time. In addition, I received some kind of boost of energy, I really feel much better, more active, my performance has increased. Therefore, I would say that this product is more focused on fighting viruses rather than fungal pathogens.

Vladimir, 42 years old, Moscow

After living in a student hostel and visiting public showers at swimming pools, I often developed warts on the soles of my feet. I didn’t attach much importance to this, since they appeared, then somehow went away on their own and formed again in other places. A wart located on my little finger forced me to pay attention and resort to drastic measures. It rubbed against my shoes, became very inflamed, hurt and prevented me from walking. Then the dermatology office advised me to use a method of removal called cryodestruction. Frankly speaking, it is not such a harmless procedure as the doctor advertised. A blister appeared at the site of the freezing, which burst, and walking for several days was very painful. In addition, the treatment site began to become inflamed. To help the body cope with inflammation more quickly, the doctor suggested using additional treatments with an immunomodulator solution. In Moscow, I did not buy Gepon at a pharmacy, but ordered it on the Internet, since several pharmacy outlets did not have it in stock. Delivered within a day. After using it, the wound healed quite quickly, and another neoplasm, the spine located nearby, disappeared. Six months have passed since the treatment, no new warts have formed.

Despite the fact that the immunomodulatory drug Gepon is not a specialized drug in the treatment of papillomas, it is quite effective in the treatment of these epidermal neoplasms. Positive characteristics include the ease of use of the product, while negative characteristics include its fairly high cost.
