Today I want to share a review about the French pharmacy brand Mustela. The jars are beautiful, the names are intriguing, but the effectiveness is zero. But still, why can I still recommend them?

The Mustela brand offers several skin care lines: for children, for pregnant women, for young mothers and sunscreens. Today I will talk about breast cream and restorative body gel. All products of this brand, as has probably become fashionable, do not contain parabens, phthalates and phenoexitanal, plus all products are hypoallergenic.

Cream “Special breast care” from the “9 months” line for pregnant women

In fact, it is very difficult to find breast cream for pregnant women. Basically, they offer creams for stretch marks that can be smeared on the chest, and not special products, but I believe that this area needs much more care than just maintaining tissue elasticity.

Many people want their breasts to remain the same after pregnancy and breastfeeding, but there are practically no funds to help. I was also interested in Mustela cream because it can be used during lactation. The ingredients are all safe and you don’t have to worry that anything will happen to the quality of the milk.

The cream claims to “help maintain breast shape and prevent loss of skin firmness that may occur after childbirth. Increases the elasticity of the skin, making it firmer with the help of Elastoregulator, which, in combination with wheat protein, helps to increase the skin's resistance to changes in breast volume. Provides high hydration with a silicon-enriched formula. The formula promotes skin regeneration and gives it tone.”

This description is very encouraging 🙂 Although in practice not everything is so rosy, but let's start in order.

The cream has a light texture. It is easy to apply and absorbs fairly quickly. Has a fresh aroma. During pregnancy, I didn’t notice any particular effect, except for hydration. But I console myself with the thought that without him it would have been worse 🙂 I started using this cream at the beginning of the second trimester and after giving birth it lasted me for another 2 months. To be honest, during these two months after giving birth, I again did not feel any effect. After the cream, the skin became moisturized, smooth, and perhaps even a little elastic, but this effect lasted until the first shower. Plus, the presence of the scent during breastfeeding really bothered me. I want my mother to smell like my mother...

Now I'm looking for some kind of alternative, but I can't find anything yet, so maybe I'll repeat this cream again. I think that the second jar will last me until the end of lactation, and if I still see the effect of the product, I will definitely update this review.

Total: The cream is not bad, but I didn’t see any effect. I hope that if I buy it again, I will notice some results from using it. Like many products in this category, the cream is used very sparingly. I was very pleased that the use of the cream is compatible with lactation, since there are very few such products.

The next product from the brand, about which I also have mixed opinions, is Body gel for figure restoration after childbirth from the “9 months” line.

When I read in the description that this cream helps restore body contours and skin elasticity, has a tightening effect, and also helps burn fat that appeared during pregnancy, I decided - I have to take it! 🙂 It’s funny, of course, but copywriting is power 🙂

The product, of course, does none of this. It doesn’t burn any fat or restore body contours (no cream will help without sports and diet), but I really liked the product. The texture of the gel is very light, orange in color, has a pleasant aroma, and after application you feel a very slight coolness on the skin.

The gel does not contain alcohol and caffeine. It can also be used during breastfeeding.

But the most pleasant thing for me was that the gel is instantly absorbed! I have never come across such a quickly absorbing body product. Now that I already have two children, my time for myself has been reduced to a minimum, and if it weren’t for this gel, I probably wouldn’t have applied anything at all for the first months after giving birth. Gel is just a godsend. You've smeared yourself and you can get dressed IMMEDIATELY.

Everything in this gel is done so that we do not waste time. The jar does not have a lid (no need to waste time opening and closing); instead, there is an excellent dispenser that dispenses small portions of the gel. Thanks to this, the product is used economically. 200 ml lasted me almost 3 months! I just used up the rest today, and in a week my baby will turn 3 months old.

As for the effect of the product itself, the skin after it becomes elastic and smooth, but as with breast cream, this effect is washed off with the first shower.

Total: Despite the fact that the cream does practically nothing in terms of the figure, for me the gel is a godsend. A product that moisturizes well, makes the skin elastic to the touch and, most importantly, there is no hassle with the product. Once you've smeared yourself, you can get dressed. I recommend it to anyone who doesn’t have time for themselves.

Mustela products can be purchased in city pharmacies (full list here), but I didn’t come across these particular products in pharmacies, so I bought them through an online store. By the way, it’s not a bad store 😉
