Medicines that fill wounds with meat

We have already described the strength of these medicines and to what place they are applied, there is no doubt that a powder made from them needs less strength than medicines prepared with oil and wax ointments. The reason why oils and wax ointments are required is that dry potions, and especially such as, for example, lead oxide and other mineral substances, do not sink to the bottom of the wound and do not penetrate through the pores, and if a wax ointment is made from them, then the flow of oil takes them where we want them.

These filling medicines are mineral, plant-based, and animal-based, and these are substances of all kinds. Mineral ones are, for example, white lead with myrtle oil and wax, and plant leaves are such leaves as male oak leaves, in the form of a bandage, willow leaves, cabbage leaves, apple tree leaves with films of its bast, large plantain leaves, halfa leaves infused with vinegar or a small amount of wine, especially if mixed with the leaves of a male or female pine tree and tied together with its bast, or leaves and branches of cypress, or cinquefoil leaves with honey. Of the gums, this includes the resin of the turpentine tree, especially if the wound is close to numerous nerves, and suitable fruits and grains are, for example, fresh nuts, ground with water and salt, or with wine that has been boiled with sorrel leaves, or with beet leaves , or lettuce, as well as the wild pear with its ability to suppress catarrhs. They also use cypress cones, burnt garlic, dust from a millstone and burnt barley - it is especially useful for old people - mixed with wax and rose oil. For flowers, they use something like hawthorn flowers or horsetail grass, especially if the wound is adjacent to a hardening in the organ or meat, as well as for wounds close to the heads of the muscles.

Animal medicine is very sour milk, which glues large wounds, and among complex medicines - medicine diarufus, gold medicine, niculas medicine, willow medicine with dictam and flax plaster.
