Whatever cosmetics you take with you in your hand luggage (mascara, lipstick, concealer, cream, perfume), you need to check the volume of each bottle - it should not exceed 100 ml. Otherwise they will throw it away.

Then you need to count the number of these bottles - there should be no more than 10 pieces. At the same time, remember that these 10 pieces include not only cosmetics, but also all other liquids that you decide to take with you in your hand luggage (for example, nasal drops or juice).

That's it, now that you are convinced that the number of bottles with “liquid” contents is no more than 10, you need to put them in one plastic bag with a zipper. Yes, everything is in one package: perfume, drops, and even caviar, if you are bringing it.

How to transport aerosols

According to the rules, aerosols cannot be carried in hand luggage. At all. The reason is simple: they can explode, the consequences are unpredictable.

1. Create a safety net

Never place cosmetics or any fragile items against the side of your suitcase. It’s better to wrap it in something soft, tie it in a bag and place it in the center of the suitcase so that the item is surrounded on all sides by soft things. A bag or cosmetic bag is a must, because if something spills, your things will not be damaged.

2. Protect things from leaking

Even if you are carrying something that is not fragile, such as shampoo in a plastic bottle, be sure to cover the neck of the bottle with plastic wrap and screw the cap on. This way the cosmetics won't leak out.

3. Fill the space

1. Most cosmetic products (eg mascara, cream eyeshadow, liquid liner) are considered liquids. You are allowed a total of 1 liter of liquids in your hand luggage. At the same time, liquid substances can only be transported in containers with a volume of no more than 100 ml. If the bottle is designed for 200 ml of liquid, but there is 100, 50 ml or less inside, this option will not work - you will have to empty the container. Considering that the total liquid should be no more than 1 liter, in total you can put only 10 containers of 100 ml each in a travel cosmetic bag.
2. Bottles with liquids can only be carried in a transparent cosmetic bag or a plastic bag with a zipper.
3. It is prohibited to have piercing or cutting objects on board the aircraft. Therefore, nail scissors and nail clippers, as well as glass and metal nail files with sharp edges, should be carried in your suitcase.
4. You can carry unlimited quantities of lipstick sticks, eye and lip pencils, dry eye shadows, loose pigments, dry blushes, bronzers and highlighters, and face powders.

As for skin care, many brands produce products that do not exceed the volume allowed for transportation: for example, Nutritic Intense Riche face creams from La Roche-Posay and Idéalia from Vichy, Prima eye cream from Giorgio Armani, face serum Force C3 from Helena Rubinstein, hand cream Cicaplast Mains from La Roche-Posay. Separately, it should be said about thermal water.

With decorative products that have a liquid or creamy texture, everything is even simpler - they are usually produced in small-volume packaging. For example, you can safely take foundation, BB and CC creams with you: for example, the volume of a bottle of Teint Visionnaire double foundation from Lancôme is 30 ml, the same amount in a tube of NYX Professional Makeup BB cream. Also, feel free to put concealers, mascaras, eyebrow gels, lip glosses and other similar products in your cosmetic bag - the volume of these products, as a rule, does not exceed 12-15 ml.

As for manicure products, they are also suitable for carry-on luggage. Nail polishes usually have a volume of 7 to 15 ml, the same goes for nail care products. For example, Essie's Apricot Cuticle Oil comes in a 13.5 ml bottle.
