About sulak in Greek adbusima

Sulak is a thickening of the eyelids, resulting from thick, foul, caustic matter with the properties of bavrak, as a result of which the eyelids turn red and the eyelashes fall out. It even reaches the point of ulceration of the edges of the eyelids, followed by damage to the eye. This often happens after inflammation of the eye. One type of sulak is fresh, the other is old and bad.

Treatment. When fresh, it is useful to make a medicinal dressing from a decoction of lentils and rose water or a medicinal dressing with purslane, chicory, rose oil and egg white. The bandage is applied at night and then they go to the bathhouse. Or they take peeled lentils, sumac, pomegranate pulp with roses, mix all this in maybukhtaj and use it at night, and wash it off in the morning. Taking a bath in the habit is a very useful treatment for this disease. In old and chronic cases, it is necessary to place blood-sucking cups on the lower leg, draw blood from the frontal vein and often go to the bathhouse.

The following medicines are used: take burnt copper - half a dirham, vitriol - three dirhams, saffron and pepper - one dirham each, grind everything with tart wine until the mixture becomes like liquid honey; it is used on the outside of the eyelids. In the event that the disease occurs after inflammation of the eye, then the following ointment has been tested: burnt ink sulfate, saffron and sumbul - one part each, and ten parts of bloodstone, all this is ground and an ointment is prepared, which is used to lubricate the eyelids.
