Loose powder with reflective particles

Clinique powder is my first ever powder. No no. I’m not 15 years old, I just never considered it necessary to use this type of cosmetics. Powder in a palette from Oriflame and a couple of smears of powder from my mother and friends don’t count. But recently, realizing that without powder, makeup is incomplete, I decided to buy myself real loose powder and the middle or luxury segment. I read descriptions, reviews, compared prices and my options, and decided on Clinique Blended Face Powder. I made the purchase at the Golden Apple in Yekaterinburg, this powder cost me 1900 rubles and so far I have never regretted the money spent on it.

I don’t consider powder an independent element of cosmetics, I don’t pin hopes on it for great camouflage abilities, I believe that it should be applied to a face that has already been treated with foundation or BB-CC cream and concealer and as a stage in makeup that mattifies the skin , giving it a matte and velvety feel. I achieved all this with powder from Clinique.

This powder from Clinique comes with a brush. This is what filling a box of powder looks like.

And here it is in unpacked form. The packaging of the set is delicate, floral, something like spring. The powder compact is made of hard, high-quality plastic, and the shiny lid is also plastic. I really hope that the lid will not crack and will please me for a long time. So far, thank God, everything is fine.

The composition of this powder, which I do not understand. I see Titanium Dioxide - the powder really protects against UV rays.

This powder is intended for all skin types. At Clinique, skin types are designated by numbers from 1 to 4, and on the front side of the box with powder it is indicated that it is suitable for all types.

First, about the brush. The brush could have been made better, fluffier. It seems to me that it is made of natural bristle, it twists out easily and very conveniently, and closes tightly with a cap. But still she is kind of small. I’m using this one for now, but as soon as I have the opportunity to buy a decent powder brush, I’ll replace it. There is no puff in the set with powder.

The color of my powder is 02. It seems to me that it has some kind of pink tone, the consultant chose it for me, so I trusted her. The powder was perfect for my fair skin! By the way, shade 03 in this line is also quite light, but without a “rosy” tint.

On the back of the container there is the following information: powder weight 35 grams, method of use (dip the brush into the powder, etc.), fragrance-free.

The powder flows out well thanks to the holes in it. It gets on the lid on top of the powder. Loose powder is easy to use, but it is only suitable for home use, which is what I actually bought it for. I wouldn’t take it with me, because for this there are compact powders with a mirror and a sponge.

I really enjoy using this powder. The texture of this loose powder is so weightless and silky that I don’t even know how to describe the tactile sensation of touching this powder. She is the most tender, lightest, airiest! The powder is easily applied to the brush offered in the set, fits perfectly on the skin (on BB cream), blends, 3 strokes are enough for me to give a matte finish to the T-zone and distribute the remainder along the contour of the face. The powder is absolutely invisible on the skin! This is because powder always “settles” on the hairs on the face, emphasizing flaking, etc. I didn't buy any powder. I didn’t have the best experience using my mother’s inexpensive powder, so I once gave up on powders. But it turns out that this is what good powder means - it is absolutely invisible on the skin! It improves it, but in itself is invisible. What can I say? I'll show you now!

This is what my face looks like after applying concealer and foundation, it’s a little shiny because my BB cream is nourishing. And in general, I have combination skin, the T-zone often gets oily. I wait 5 minutes for the BB cream to absorb and apply Clinique powder. This powder hid the imperfections of the T-zone, evened out the complexion, gave it a matte appearance, and at the same time this product remained completely invisible on the skin.

Without flash/with flash. In the second case, a reflective effect is visible, due to which the skin is evened out.

Up close. Even tone, no shine. P.S. Peeling on the nose is terrible, but fortunately it is not from powder.

But the powder no longer survives until the evening. During the day, you need to touch up your makeup at least once with compact powder. To be clear, I didn't do this. But I blotted my face with a napkin to get rid of excess oil and applied Clinique powder again, my face was transformed.

This is what a face looks like with full, light daytime makeup, with a finishing touch of Clinique powder.

I have an absolutely wonderful experience using the Clinique Blended Face Powder. It is invisible on the skin, but helps to cope with imperfections in the complexion, with an oily T-zone, and completes makeup, making the skin smooth and matte.

I highlight the following advantages of Clinique Blended Face Powder.

+silky texture
+invisibility on the skin
+ does not highlight flaking and imperfections, does not settle on facial hairs
+evens out skin tone
+ completes makeup, mattifying and evening out the skin
+UV filter
+suitable for any skin type

Disadvantages:
-the brush in the set could be better
-does not last throughout the day, you need to touch up your makeup during the day

I don't know if there are powders that can last all day, I have no experience with powders before. Today I can call this powder the best for me. I was afraid to use powders, but this one simply captivated me with its ease of use and absolute invisibility on the skin!

Until recently, loose powder was considered suitable only for theatrical dressing rooms. But progress does not stand still—modern formulas give natural results and solve many skin problems. We tell and prove it - using the example of the best loose powder, according to skin.ru.

Benefits of loose powder

Beautiful boxes with powder puffs are most often given pride of place on the dressing table - no matter how thoughtful the packaging is, it is inconvenient to carry loose powder in a bag. But this does not detract from her merits.

The texture of loose powder is much lighter than that of compact powder, which means that it does not cause discomfort on the skin.

Fine particles absorb excess sebum without drying out the skin.

The risk of applying too much product is minimized.

The powder fits well on the skin, literally merging with its tone, adds radiance and perfectly fixes makeup.

Unlike compact powder, loose powder lasts longer and does not fall off during the day.

Types of loose powder

If you thought this traditional product didn't offer variety, you were wrong.

Bronzing

This powder performs three functions at once:

provides a tanning effect;

serves as a means for sculpting;

can replace blush.

Bronzing powder should be used carefully, especially for girls with fair skin. Apply a minimum amount of product to your brush and blend it thoroughly - otherwise your makeup will look unnatural.

Transparent

Ideal for fixing makeup. The composition includes quartz powder, which mattifies and visually evens out the skin texture. However, you should not rely on the masking effect of transparent powder - it will not hide pimples, blackheads and enlarged pores.

Shining

Mineral

In beauty clinics, after chemical peels, deep cleansing and laser procedures, they recommend using loose mineral powder to relieve inflammation and redness. It will also be useful for girls with very sensitive skin.

How to choose loose powder

The powder will meet all your expectations if you focus on your skin type when purchasing.

Dry and sensitive. Loose powder, 100% mineral, will hide redness and flaking, even if applied in a thin layer.

Fat. Mineral-based mattifying powder will make enlarged pores invisible and remove excess shine.

Normal. Any loose powder will do. The main thing is to choose the right tone that matches your skin color.

How to use loose powder

To make loose powder look natural on your face, remember the rules for applying it and stock up on good makeup brushes.

After cleansing the skin, apply moisturizer to your face and let it absorb properly (this will take 15-20 minutes).

Place a small amount of powder on the brush, then invert it and tap the base on the lid of the compact to tap off excess product.

Distribute the powder over your face in a circular motion: from the center to the periphery.

Blend the product until you get an even tone.

Lightly move your brush over your cheekbones, hairline, and chin contour.

Selecting a shade

Loose powder comes in different shades: transparent, beige, peach, pink. The main rule that you should not forget about is to choose a color that is a tone lighter than your skin.

Transparent powder is suitable for a matte finish.

Girls with pale porcelain skin will benefit from powder with a pink undertone - it refreshes the face.

Those with dark skin need powder with beige or yellowish pigments.

The tanning effect is created by bronzing powder.

Peach-toned powder looks good on fair skin.

Review of loose powders

The best loose powder, according to skin.ru, was produced by the brands Giorgio Armani and Yves Saint Laurent.

Loose powder Souffle D’Éclat Poudre Libre Translucide, Yves Saint Laurent with pearl microparticles gives the skin a natural glow - a weightless veil fixes makeup, providing a flawless finish. Suitable for any skin type, including dry and sensitive.

Loose Powder, Giorgio Armani eliminates oily shine and hides imperfections. Micro-fil reflective microparticles even out skin tone and provide it with a slight glow.

For most women, powder serves as an invariable component of everyday makeup, able to even out the complexion and hide skin imperfections. However, the wrong choice will lead to completely the opposite effect - it will highlight the slightest flaws, so you should take the purchase of powder seriously.

Criteria for choosing a good powder

  1. Powder texture can be liquid, powder, compressed or ball-shaped. Compact powder is denser, so its mattifying and concealing effect is ideal for oily skin types. The crumbly version is most often light and transparent; it serves only to fix makeup.
  2. Hue The amount of powder you use will depend primarily on your complexion. For this reason, most manufacturers have several tones in their range. You can find out how well the chosen shade suits your skin by checking the back of your hand.
  3. Shimmering particles (shimmers), which give the skin a subtle glow, are present mainly in roll-on and loose powder.

Which powder is better to avoid?

Of course, when choosing powder, the individual characteristics of your facial skin play a major role. However, some nuances should be taken into account so that the new acquisition does not turn out to be a disappointment.

  1. You should not buy powder that perfectly matches your skin tone; it is better to buy a tone lighter. Remember that powder usually makes your natural complexion a little darker.
  2. When choosing “loose powder”, avoid powder that does not have a strainer in the block. Otherwise, it will be difficult to apply it on the face in an even, light layer, and there is a high probability of accidentally spilling the contents.
  3. If you prefer compact powder, you should not take those types that do not have a mirror. Of course, this is not an essential criterion, but compact powder is a mobile option, and a mirror is a must.
  4. Don’t buy powder with a short expiration date, otherwise you simply won’t have time to use it up.
