It is much more convenient to practice swimming in special clothing, which is designed for intense training. In recent years, swimsuits made from the so-called supplex have become increasingly popular. What kind of material is this and how safe it is, we found out from a representative of the Ukrainian-Italian brand “TotalFit”...
The Italian brand “TotalFit” makes not only sports swimsuits from supplex, but also leggings, tops, shorts, positioning the textile as optimal for training and completely safe for health.
Biflex: composition and properties
Supplex is a synthetic knitwear made by spinning from 2 fibers that stretch in two directions (straight and perpendicular). For sewing sportswear, a combination of polyamide and elastane is most often used, but it can be Lycra, Lurex, nylon, microfiber. All these fabrics have excellent stretch, are distinguished by high elasticity, wear resistance and pleasant tactile sensations.
High-quality supplex, for example, made in Italy, is ideal for sewing circus, dance and sports costumes, swimsuits, leggings and tops. The products are beautiful, smooth and comfortable, they elegantly fit the body, having a corrective effect.
Why is supplex so popular for sewing swimsuits? The fact is that, due to its high density, it is not translucent. 300% stretch in any direction, flattering any body type. Moreover, it does not lose its shape from prolonged contact with water, dries quickly and does not require special care.
Pros and cons!
As a material used for sewing sportswear, supplex has found many fans. In particular, it is valued for the fact that:
- elastic, does not hinder movements;
- does not fade;
- does not wrinkle;
- wear-resistant;
- dries quickly;
- emphasizes the advantages of the figure, hiding flaws (thanks to the corrective effect).
But, like any other material, supplex is not without its drawbacks. This:
- average level of breathability;
- possibility of static electricity accumulation.
