Dosage forms - nasal spray 0.05%
Composition - Active ingredient - Oxymetazoline.
Indications for use - Difficulty in nasal breathing due to colds, inflammation of the nasal sinuses, eustachitis, hay fever, allergic rhinitis.
Contraindications - Hypersensitivity, hypertension, severe atherosclerosis, heart rhythm disturbances, diabetes mellitus, thyrotoxicosis, pregnancy, breastfeeding (stop during treatment), children's age (up to 1 year).
Side effects - Sleep disturbance, agitation, tachycardia, nausea, increased blood pressure, dryness and burning sensation of the nasal mucosa, dry mouth or pharynx.
Interaction - Slows down the absorption of local anesthetics and prolongs their effect. Other vasoconstrictor drugs may cause side effects. Enhances the effect of MAO inhibitors on the central nervous system.
Overdose - Symptoms: tachycardia, arterial hypertension, central nervous system depression. Treatment: symptomatic.
